Network Critical SmartNA TAPs provide the most flexible tap systems. Standalone portable taps (fiber or copper) can be install it in a frame or rack chassis system as a splitter tap, 1gbps aggregating tap, and a 1gbps filtering tap with filtering.
In the SmartNA line you have three choices:
- The -2 simple Breakout TAP with Aggregation
- The -4 Breakout, Aggregate, Span, Regeneration TAP
- -6 Breakout, Backplane access for Aggregate, Filter, Span, and Regenerate across all taps in the same chassis. Lowest Cost of Ownership.

All modules are dual port and if using the 1U SmartNA chassis you can insert up to 8 taps or 17 ports. In the 3U you can mount up to 24 taps or 48 ports in a single chassis. This is the lowest cost solution available with a full set of features. Taps can be 1g aggregator taps with filtering.
Ports can be configured as span or tap ports using the web GUI. These data stream will be aggregated and filtered with the right tap installed. A management module provides management access and complete control. Each management module also provides 1 additionl port.
The 1g aggregating tap interfaces available cover any possible conversion you may need. For instance TAP a fiber link and pass it to an RJ45 based 10/100/1000TX port. If tapping copper links you can be assured that with dual power supplies and instant signal regeneration minimizes any line hits in the event of a failure. If one of the connected devices fails the copper taps will provide a Link Failure Propagation to the other device.Network Critical SmartNA TAPs provide everything you need to tap, aggregate, and filter. Install a simple fiber optic splitter or breakout tap in one slot. Insert a fiber to copper converting tap in another slot. Replace an SFP later to change your fiber type.
