Tap, Span, Aggregation Switches

Data Monitoring Aggregation Switches for Tools

OASYS provides data monitoring solutions using TAPs, span feeds, and matrix switches with aggregating, filtering, and regeneration capabilities from Gigamon and Network Critical. TAPped and Spanned links can be merged into a single stream and then filtered to output just the data type a particular tool needs to capture.

  • Passive Fiber Optic TAPs delivered in single and dual- TAP modules.
  • High Density Passive Fiber Optic TAPs in 1U and 2U configurations
  • Aggregation and Filtering Appliances with port counts to fit your needs
  • 1 port 10Gbps TAP with 2 10Gbps, and 3 1Gbps outputs
  • Appliance with 2* 10Gbps ports and 8 to 12 1Gbps ports
  • Appliance with up to 4 10Gbps ports and 20 1Gbps ports
  • Appliance with up to 24* 10Gbps ports and 4 1Gbps ports
  • Switch with up to 96* 10Gbps ports and 32 1Gbps ports
  • Physical Layer Matrix switch with up to 4,096 ports

(*10Gbps ports are SFP+ and will support 1Gbps SFP’s, many of these can be stacked together as a single fabric.)

gigamon_logoGigaVUE 2404 provides up to 24 10Gbps ports per chassis with 4 standard 1Gbps ports. The 10G ports are SFP+ based to support 1G SFP's as well. For even higher density applications the GigaVUE 420 and GigaVUE 2404 can be stacked together using one or multiple 10Gbps. Multiple departments (Security, Engineering, Operations, and Applications Development) share the data access network fabric solving the port sharing dilemma. No other system offers built in TAP options, multi-link stacking, and load balanced outputs to tools like the GigaVUE.

CITRUS Web GUI is included with every system and no extra software is required. In a stack you can define one system as the Master GigaVUE and configure the stack through the Master. A CLI is also available to configure the system. Optional GigaSMART modules are available to add time stamping to packets, slice, inject switch and port numbers etc.

The Window to your Network

The development of less expensive 1Gbps and 10Gigabit per second hardware technology and expert engineering enabled Network Critical to invent a flexible all-in-one TAP and Span Matrix system called Smart Network Access (SmartNA). Clients buy only what they need and virtually any fixed or SFP based interface configuration imaginable. These modules can be mounted in a standalone chassis or moved to a 4 or 12 slot chassis. The modules can be breakout/aggregate, breakout/aggregate/filter, breakout/aggregate/filter/backplane. Backplane refers to the fact that you aggregate and filter across all modules connected to the same backplane. All are controllable from a serial connection or a Web GUI. At a minimum all modules provide aggregation.

Network Critical also offers the SlimLine series of passive Fiber Optic TAPs. A 50micron TAP will support any technology that uses of 50micron fiber optic cable i.e. OC3-OC192 or 10M-10G Ethernet. The same is true for 62.5micron and 9micon cable. For inline applications please call to discuss V-Line TAPs.

SmartNA -10Gbps Another version of SmartNA supports 10 Gbps Ethernet and provides multiple 10G and 1Gbps outputs along with statistical information.

Beyond the amazing development of aggregation and filtering we now offer a high capacity physical layer Matrix Switch. These components and new lower cost analyzer software make it easy and affordable to upgrade your monitoring infrastructure. Some newer high performance 1Gigabit and 10Gigabit analyzer cards come with a connection for a GPS antenna for synchronizing packet time stamps. With this capability and a distributed analysis system you can retrieve the same packet generated at one end from the remote end and subtract the remotely received packet's time stamp from the launched packet's time stamp. ONE WAY LATENCY. Adapters with aggregation, hardware filtering, and GPS packet time stamping are very expensive. By taking these features off the adapter and putting them in a shared matrix switching appliance you reduce your monitoring system cost.

OASYS has been focusing on TAPs, matrix switches, network analyzers, and tools for monitoring the IT Infrastructure for over 15 years. Contact us and let us bring a wealth of experience and expertise to your network monitoring project research.
