The latest release of the GigVUE 2404 provides 24 high density 10Gbps ports per chassis with 4 standard 1Gbps ports. The 10G ports are SFP+ based to support 1G SFP's as well. For even higher density applications we have supplied multiple systems using both the GigaVUE 420 and GigaVUE 2404 stacked together using 10Gbps and multiple 10Gbps links to consolidate TAPs and Spans to Tools. Multiple departments (Security, Engineering, Operations, and Applications Development) share the data access network fabric solving the port sharing dilemma.
Applications range from simple point and shoot matrix switch network monitoring to carrier or MSO class systems where just VoiP needs to be extracted for recording or MOS scoring purposes in applications for 911, Lawful Intercept, or call center voice quality monitoring. The most recent stringent application is coming from adopters of IMS where 3GPP interoperability and network assurance is of utmost importance to support Multimedia on IP. The ability to filter, aggregate and share 1Gbps and 10Gbps copper or fiber links to a diversified set of tools is saving broadband providers millions of dollars while building out new OSS management platforms. Operations are eased with the new CITRUS Web GUI, although the CLI is so simple most clients wind up using both. This has been the highest repeat purchase product for aggregation and filtering when used in building monitoring solutions for our clients. No other system has been so thoroughly tested. The original GigaVUE MP was replaced by the GigaVUE 420 sharing the same modules with enhancements for filtering and flexibility in port types as well as expanded to support 4 10Gbps as well as 20 1Gbps connections to tool or networks.

Along with the advent of high density 1G/10G technologies more efficient engineering and better component have given Network Critical the ability to invent a flexible low to high density 1Gbps TAP and Span Matrix system called Smart NA that allows users to buy just what they need in virtually any interface conversion configuration imaginable. The same modules are used as a single module, 4 module, or 12 module chassis. The modules can be breakout/aggregate, breakout/aggregate/filter, breakout/aggregate/filter/backplane. Backplane refers to the fact that you can access the matrix switch between modules to aggregate and filter across all modules connected to the backplane. Three additional slots are provided for management modules that provide additional ports, management and stacking capability. All this is controllable from a serial connection or a Web GUI. Modules of different capabilities can share the same chassis and redundant AC and/or DC power supplies. Modules can be Fiber to Copper, Copper to Fiber, Singlemode or Multimode, LC or SC, 10/100 or 10/100/1000, fixed or SFP based.
Network Critical also offers the SlimLine series of Fiber Optic TAPs to complement the solution. A 50micron tap will support any technology that runs of 50micron i.e. OC3-OC192 or 10M-10G Ethernet. The same is true for 62.6micron and 9micon cable. Dual wavelengths are standard within a singlemode or multimode TAP type. With SC and LC options and very low loss we have been able to save many customer applications once they found that other manufacturers' inferior TAP designs were losing too much light within the TAP to finish a project.
Network Critical offers systems in varying sizes with a myriad of features that can be used alone or integrated into your environment.
Share monitoring devices from flexible modules that are TAPs and can be configured to support spans. High port density configurations are available in a single chassis at a low price point. Port aggregation and filtering available on individual modules or across all modules in the chassis. Configure through the CLI and Web Gui management interface.
The SmartNA supports 10 Gbps Ethernet and provides multiple 10G and 1Gbps outputs and the statistical information from full or sliced packets. This innovate matrix switch technology with built-in fault-tolerance guarantee continual network operations during a failure, allowing it to be used inline in the production network or in the test lab environment.
OASYS has been focusing on TAPs and matix switches for monitoring the IT Infrastructure for over 15 years and can bring a wealth of experience and expertise to your project research.
With these data montoring and aggregation solutions we have been able to design, install and integrate our monitoring tool offerings without problems. Today it is imperative that mature IT organizations build networks with an eye to monitoring and management and know the limitations of the tools and that virtually all segments' packet traffic is accessible within a single fabric for true visibility.
The Data Monitoring Aggregation Switch Fabric needs filtering and the flexibility to meet the changing network landscape brought n by the new Reset Economy.
Beyond the amazing developement of aggregation and filtering we now offer new lower cost analyzer software coupled with high performance adapters with onboard sychronized time stamping for an accurate and meaningful monitoring requirements.
Accurate Time Stamping of Packets B4 the finicky system clock gets involved is possible using Endace DAG cards with GPS or CDMA antenna connections. Distributed analyzer and security monitoring can be sychronized nationally with accuracy in the 20 - 50 micro second range!
All new Endace high performance Gigabit and 10Gigabit analyzer cards come with a connection for a GPS antenna. The satellites are pulsing time sentences. If you have GPS receivers in Walnut Creek California at WildPackets and in Bloomingdale New Jersey you can be sure within micro seconds that both are receiving the same signal. These new cards inject the time stamp on the packet and specialized software adds that time to the packet. With this capability and a distributed analysis system you can retrieve the same packet generated at one end from the remote end and subtract the remotely received packet's time stamp from the launched packet's time stamp. ONE WAY LATENCY. Why is this important? Consider financial stock feed data, voice over ip, ip multimedia system, 3GPP, broadcast video, and cellur data. These and more rely on one way performance and in many cases there is no "round trip" to derive latency. Knowing how long it takes to go one way and comparing this too many sites is necessary to prove a fair stock market. If your applications response time needs to be profiled and the server is in good shape it is useful to know if the TX side or RX side is the problem. After all there is no guarantee that the full duplex connection is using the same path over your carrier's network.

Alternatively, if you can't afford or don't want to pay for roof rights to mount an antenna you could work with the CDMA time pulse that feeds cell phones. Cell towers are regenerating the satellite pulses albeit with less accuracy than directly. Your accuracy goes from the microsecond range to the millisecond range. This may be acceptable in instances where you are going great distances. Don't forget the signal is only traveling at 186,000miles per second. Einstein would have been proud that we can measure time over great distances with such synchronized accuracy. The old sniffer called Ethereal has evolved into Wireshark and the drivers are avialable for such cards. Cace Pilot is a new console from CACE that provides a central console to a highly accurate distributed network monitoring system when correctly configured. OASYS can build to suit on IBM or HP servers, provide a Cace TurboBox, or an Endace Ninja Probe which can include addtional applications such as Snort and Splunk.
